I am a native Texas artist and a self-taught painter. I create my paintings using bold strokes and primary colors to develop highly graphic themes of color and movement. Most of my work starts as an idea and evolves into the final movement. I rarely use pictures but rather paint from memory and feelings of the moment. That’s the reason some of my friends claim I need help after they viewed some of my artwork. I paint mainly using acrylics but will use oils as well. I grew up in Marshall in East Texas and attended University of Texas in Arlington on a baseball scholarship and stayed in the DFW area for over 30 years with a successful business career. I moved back to East Texas in 2010.
I started painting late in life in my 40’s as a new hobby and time away from the TV. Having been in sales and marketing all my professional life I was ready to start perusing my love of art. I devoted my younger years to playing sports and business so I was ready for a new challenge. With no formal training and no lessons I started painting and I have had success showing and selling my art.
I hope you enjoy my work.
My first art show was the Fort Worth Main Street Arts Festival April 15-18, 2004.
